Thanks to our incredible and caring supporters who’ve donated so generously to our drought campaign, we’ve made a grant of $15,000 to the Tackling Tough Times Together drought program to support affected communities in NSW and Queensland.

Tackling Tough Times Together – run by the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal – provides grants for community-led projects that aim to relieve current stressors and symptoms of drought, and most importantly, build capacity and resilience for the future. Funds can also support activities that engage people in being active, exploring options and creating something that will stand the test of tough times.

The Tackling Tough Times Together grant program helps communities access the resources they need to support one another through the ongoing effects of the drought in particular:
• Reduce social isolation by facilitating strong social cohesion and connection;
• Support and engage the community in leadership development and skills training; and
• Support local economic recovery or renewal.

The Queensland granting round is currently open, with the program expanding into NSW this year; the grant from the Aussie Farmers Foundation will support projects in both states.
